pregnancy &return to sport.

pelvic floor work done. cleared by your pelvic health physio. and still not back to training the way you want to be. that's where this starts.

pelvic health is the foundation. it's not the finish line.

pelvic health physiotherapy is essential for postpartum women. it should absolutely be your first step. but it's designed to address pelvic floor function — incontinence, prolapse, pain, diastasis recti. it's not designed to get you back to running a 10k, back squatting, or managing the training load of a competitive athlete.

that next step — the bridge between 'your pelvic floor is working' and 'you're actually back to training' — is where a lot of postpartum athletes fall through. nobody maps out the return to sport. nobody takes the training history seriously.

that's what this appointment is.

what a postpartum return-to-sport appointment covers

Training history & goals

where you were before pregnancy, what you're trying to get back to, and what timeline is realistic.

Musculoskeletal assessment

strength, movement, load capacity and any injuries that developed during or after pregnancy.

Return-to-sport planning

a phased, evidence-based plan for returning to your sport — running, lifting, team sport, or all three.

Load management guidance

how to build training volume without breaking down — specifically for a postpartum body.

Injury management

if you've picked up a new injury since having a baby, this is where we address it.

Referral where needed

if pelvic health physio input is still needed, or there are hormonal or nutritional elements, Connie will refer within a multidisciplinary model.

this service does not replace pelvic health physiotherapy. where appropriate, Connie will refer to a specialist.
